After staying in Guastalla again this weekend it was very saddening to see the devastation and damage caused by the recent earthquakes
Buildings that I know and love were damaged and remain closed. Yet the people of the town while expressing their fears and troubles also readily share their concerns for other worse hit towns such as Reggiolo. The earthquake in northern Italy apparently killed over 30 people and caused serious damage to buildings in several towns, local officials say.

A magnitude-6.0 quake struck in the middle of the night, about 35km (22 miles) north of the city of Bologna, the tremor caused "significant damage to the cultural heritage" of Emilia Romagna region, the government said. Later, a magnitude-5.1 aftershock hit the region, causing more buildings to collapse.
The aftershock destroyed a clock tower and made a firefighter fall from a wall in the town of Finale Emilia, near the epicentre of the first tremor, and this became an iconic symbol of the event. Closer to 'home' the town of Guastalla is still not the place it was and the scars remain

Wow! The worst we Brits have to deal with is an excessive amount of rain occassionally... how are they dealing with this emotionally? Just a shrug of the shoulder and just get on with life?
