Talacre Lighthouse, also known as the Point of Ayr
Lighthouse, is a Grade II listed building situated on the north coast of
Wales on the Point of Ayr.
It was built in 1777 in response to the 1775 storms where 2 ships ran aground at a cost of 200 lives and around 40,000 of cargo. The lighthouse is an important navigational aid, guiding ships entering between the River Dee and Mersey Estuary. It is also a popular tourist destination, offering stunning views of the coastline and a picturesque backdrop for photography.
