Deer - White Edge, Curbar

A few more pictures of Deer on Whited  Edge near Curbar.

Very tricky, deer can apparently smell humans from up to a mile away, plus they are blessed with good eyesight, and would normally move away before anyone even spotted one.  However it's rutting season, so they have  other things on their mind and are a little distracted...

However this can make them aggressive towards anyone  stepping on their patch so have to keep some distance when find a herd.  Out on the Edge there's no tree cover to hide behind or to use for safety - everywhere is so open. Also the deer are very good at blending in, I literally heard one last night and hadn't even seen it coming.

Deer - Curbar Edge

Walking along Curbar Edge over several early mornings and later in the evening to try and capture a shot of the Stags during rutting season.

Not easy - they are still pretty aware even when so distracted, and can sense anyone approaching. All taken with a Nikon D850 using a pretty high ISO and a 600mm lens
