Prince's Trust- Helping inspirational young people change their lives for the better

As an advocate and business advisor for The Prince's Trust it is always heartwarming to hear about the young people that have benefited from the organisation.

The Prince's Trust website features over 100 stories about the young people that have been helped and changed their lives with mentoring support and the Prince's Trust programmes. Our volunteers really have made a fantastic impact on the lives of many young people.

The grand final of the Derbyshire Best Singer Competition

Tonight I will be attending the 'Derbyshire Best Singer Competition' at the Pro-Act Stadium in Chesterfield, where I will see finalists battle it out for the prize of Best Singer.

As well as going for the entertainment and networking opportunity, we (myself and Morclean) will be cheering on singer Katie Stewart who we are sponsoring at the event.

Myself and everyone at Morclean wish Katie the best of luck tonight and look forward to seeing all the talent that will be on show tonight.

The Prince's Trust Celebrates 40th Anniversary

I was very humbled to receive an email this morning thanking me for my contribution towards The Prince's Trust as they approach their 40th Anniversary. Having previously volunteered as a business guru for the trust, I can honestly say the work they do to help young people is incredible and invaluable. I would definitely act as an advocate for anyone considering volunteering their time and skills to the cause.
The email received is below. A massive well done to The Trust and thanks for letting me be a part!

The Prince's Trust is celebrating its 40th Anniversary!

"This is an opportunity for me to thank each and every one of you for your invaluable contribution to the work of The Prince’s Trust.

As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, we reflect on all that we have achieved together.
Since 1976, 825,000 young people have been helped by The Trust and we certainly could not have achieved this without your incredible passion for supporting young people and helping them reach their potential.

Without your help, we would not have been able to support 58,554 young people last year.
Without your enthusiasm, young people could not have benefited from employability and life skills sessions delivered by volunteers.

Without your dedication, young people would not have had the chance to be supported by our Talent Match programme and Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths related sessions would not have been delivered to so many young people.

Without your commitment, so many young people would not have received the hours and hours of invaluable mentoring and guidance to help them progress into a positive outcome

You are also a vital part of our future and we look forward to working with you to help the next generation of young people. There are still over 600,000 young people who are unemployed, many lacking key skills to move into work.

More than ever today, The Trust needs you, and above all the young people need your continued support.

With heartfelt thanks and best wishes,
Martina Milburn CBE

Smiggle Kitchen - Raising Money for Ashgate Hospice

Local business raising money for Ashgate Hospice, they need your help!

Local Matlock business owner Lindsey Adderson of Smiggle Kitchen is raising funds for Ashgate Hospice in memory of her daughter Jessica. Lindsey is hosting a cake, canape and cocktail party to raise money for the fantastic hospice on 28th February and is asking for donations towards the hospice, which is only partially government funded. The hospice's services are free to use and are much needed support for patients in need of end of life care. Without donations from the public they would not be here.

Ashgate hospice has to raise over £3million per year through fundraising and voluntary contributions alone to be able to stay open. Every penny counts for Ashgate.

If anyone would like to read more about Lindsey's fundraising or would like to read more about Ashgate and Lindsey and Jessica's story, please follow this link.  I'm sure you'll agree it's a charity worthwhile of anything you can afford and your time.

If you can share this, thank you.
