Prince's Trust- Helping inspirational young people change their lives for the better

As an advocate and business advisor for The Prince's Trust it is always heartwarming to hear about the young people that have benefited from the organisation.

The Prince's Trust website features over 100 stories about the young people that have been helped and changed their lives with mentoring support and the Prince's Trust programmes. Our volunteers really have made a fantastic impact on the lives of many young people.

Read some of the success stories here.

Local jewellery business does their part for charity

I received some great news today from one of the businesses I help mentor as part of my role with The Prince's Trust. Roseanna, the owner of Roseanna Croft Jewellery based in Bakewell is giving back to the charities that have helped her business develop and also those that are close to her heart.

Roseanna has organised a Christmas party which she will be hosting at her shop on the 15th December and will include a raffle. The greatest news though is that Roseanna will be participating in the 2017 London Marathon and raising money for her 2 chosen charities. Please read below for more information on how Roseanna plans to "give back" and I wish her all of the success.

Fundraising by Roseanna Croft Jewellery

Roseanna Croft, founder, designer and goldsmith of the luxury jewellery brand Roseanna Croft Jewellery is giving back to charities that have helped her and her business become what it is today.
Roseanna Croft Jewellery is a start-up business and handmade jewellery brand supported by The Prince’s Trust.

Next week, Roseanna is hosting a Christmas Party through her (and her uncle - Richard Croft’s) boutique 'The Jewellery Studio' in the market town of Bakewell on 15th December.  There will be a raffle where the main prize is a handmade, Amber and Sterling Silver bracelet by Roseanna Croft Jewellery (amongst other gifts).
This is only the beginning of fundraising for her 2 chosen charities, 'Heads Together' and The Princes Trust.

In 2017, Roseanna is running the London Marathon and will be hosting fundraising events in the lead up to it and throughout the year.

'After securing a place in the 2017 London Marathon I felt it was an excellent opportunity to give back to 2 charities that mean a lot to me. I've chosen the Heads Together campaign because I have experiences with mental health in different variations and want to help in the fight to end the stigma based around it and support people suffering have access to the help they need.

I have also chosen The Prince’s Trust, this is because of how much they have helped me and my business grow and develop. They carry out amazing work for young people and aspiring entrepreneurs. I moved to Derbyshire wanting to work towards my dream of owning my own jewellery brand but had no knowledge on starting a business, little finances and personal problems that come with relocating. The Prince’s trust has helped in every way and is continuing to do so. I want to give back to them in any way I can.'

If you wish to help Roseanna and Roseanna Croft Jewellery with their fundraising, you can visit her Virgin Money Giving page (http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/RoseannaCroft) or get in touch via email at enquiries@roseannacroftjewellery.com.

Co-operatives Charity of The Year- Shortlisted

As a regular volunteer at the Princes Trust, to hear that they have been nominated for the Co-operatives Charity of the year, is a wonderful thing.

Are you a colleague or member of the Co-operative? we need your vote, every vote counts so don't be shy.

The Co-operative has 85,000 members of staff and 8 million members, what a difference could be made if each one of them voted. A big difference, if the Princes Trust is chosen the partnership could raise over 3.5 million this would mean so much to the 176,000 young people who need our help.

So how do you vote?
Follow this link and enter your details it only takes a minute just have your membership number to hand.

Are you a shopper in the Co-op? why not have a chat with staff in store and tell them why the work Princes Trust does is important to you, get them thinking and maybe that's one more vote.

 Thank You.

Team Megan - Charity Ride from London to Paris

From 7th - 11th May 2014, Team Megan compromised of Philip Maycock and co. from Matlock, ride from London to Paris all in aid of Arthritis Research UK.

The gruelling cycle is a mammoth 300 miles long and it will take the team 5 days in total.

Philip and the team are raising much needed funds for Arthritis Research UK after Philip's daughter, Megan, was diagnosed with Juvenile Arthritis at the tender age of 9.

The team have raised over £17,000 so far for the charity but would like to raise more for such a charity and condition often associated with only old age.

You can sponsor the team before, during and after their ride from their Just Giving page here.

You can also read more about Philip and his daughter Megan's story here.

Good luck!
