Local jewellery business does their part for charity

I received some great news today from one of the businesses I help mentor as part of my role with The Prince's Trust. Roseanna, the owner of Roseanna Croft Jewellery based in Bakewell is giving back to the charities that have helped her business develop and also those that are close to her heart.

Roseanna has organised a Christmas party which she will be hosting at her shop on the 15th December and will include a raffle. The greatest news though is that Roseanna will be participating in the 2017 London Marathon and raising money for her 2 chosen charities. Please read below for more information on how Roseanna plans to "give back" and I wish her all of the success.

Fundraising by Roseanna Croft Jewellery

Roseanna Croft, founder, designer and goldsmith of the luxury jewellery brand Roseanna Croft Jewellery is giving back to charities that have helped her and her business become what it is today.
Roseanna Croft Jewellery is a start-up business and handmade jewellery brand supported by The Prince’s Trust.

Next week, Roseanna is hosting a Christmas Party through her (and her uncle - Richard Croft’s) boutique 'The Jewellery Studio' in the market town of Bakewell on 15th December.  There will be a raffle where the main prize is a handmade, Amber and Sterling Silver bracelet by Roseanna Croft Jewellery (amongst other gifts).
This is only the beginning of fundraising for her 2 chosen charities, 'Heads Together' and The Princes Trust.

In 2017, Roseanna is running the London Marathon and will be hosting fundraising events in the lead up to it and throughout the year.

'After securing a place in the 2017 London Marathon I felt it was an excellent opportunity to give back to 2 charities that mean a lot to me. I've chosen the Heads Together campaign because I have experiences with mental health in different variations and want to help in the fight to end the stigma based around it and support people suffering have access to the help they need.

I have also chosen The Prince’s Trust, this is because of how much they have helped me and my business grow and develop. They carry out amazing work for young people and aspiring entrepreneurs. I moved to Derbyshire wanting to work towards my dream of owning my own jewellery brand but had no knowledge on starting a business, little finances and personal problems that come with relocating. The Prince’s trust has helped in every way and is continuing to do so. I want to give back to them in any way I can.'

If you wish to help Roseanna and Roseanna Croft Jewellery with their fundraising, you can visit her Virgin Money Giving page (http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/RoseannaCroft) or get in touch via email at enquiries@roseannacroftjewellery.com.

Oker Ward, Whitworth Hospital

As a resident of the Darley Dales I feel it is important to share news relating to the area, in particular involving local services or businesses.

A story to recently come to my attention is the proposal to remove the Oker Ward from the Whitworth Hospital. Based conveniently on Bakewell Road the hospital offers both inpatient and minor injury services, and from a personal stance was the place where my son Harry was born.

There have been a lot of opinions and speculation online regarding this proposal and I feel it beneficial to share more information so those reading can make a more informed decision. One source I have found to provide information and links to resources includes: https://www.facebook.com/groups/520166701521973/?fref=nf
