Maazi Monk Food Festival

Wow what a great turn out - and everyone really enjoyed the Maazi Monk Food Festival 27th September 2015

Held in Hall Lees Park the event ran pretty much all day and the organisers enjoyed significant crowds of people.

The food flavour  itself  ranged from Russian to Indian, from Greek to Jamaican, with a truly British selection of savoury and sweet pies, cakes and treats, along with a lovely selection of speciality coffees

One of the highlights of the day were street dancers and drummers, who brought  a lovely carnival feel to the event with undertones of an Indian beat. The group also encouraged several sessions of dancers where members of the public were able to learn how to dance and why and how  the movements were originally developed

The event was of course supported by Maazi who provided a gorgeous selection of Indian food, including several vegetarian and chicken dishes, Samosa's and South Indian Dosa, along with Monk bar who organised a bar serving beers, cocktails and drinks as well as a delightful Prosecco bar to help everyone enjoy the warm sunshine in such a beautiful setting

Thanks to everyone that came and all those that helped on the day!

No traffic running through will make such a difference to the festival and the atmosphere, giving the street market feel they were after.

So it seems like everything's falling into place for the festival, Maazi the main sponsor posted this photo below.

Maazi hard at work on many events this summer, what a cool photo too. Bring on the summer!
