Derbyshire Countryside

Nestled in the heart of England, Derbyshire unveils a kaleidoscope of colors as autumn gently sweeps across its landscape.

The golden hues of the trees, adorned with leaves in various shades of red, orange, and yellow, create a captivating tapestry that stretches as far as the eye can see. Nature's paintbrush delicately strokes the rolling hills, transforming them into a mesmerizing vista that invites visitors to explore its hidden treasures.

Derbyshire's countryside is dotted with idyllic villages, each boasting its own unique charm and character. Take a leisurely stroll through Bakewell, a quintessential English village, famous for its delicious Bakewell pudding. Marvel at the picturesque cottages, their stone walls adorned with ivy, and the well-preserved medieval architecture that transports you back in time. As you wander through the narrow streets, you'll be greeted by the warm smiles of locals, who are proud to call this place home. No visit to Derbyshire in autumn is complete without a journey through the awe-inspiring Peak District National Park. Majestic peaks rise in the distance, their summits kissed by the misty morning fog. Lace up your hiking boots and set off on one of the many trails that wind through the park. As you meander along the paths, you'll be surrounded by a symphony of rustling leaves and the earthy scent of damp soil. Pause to admire the panoramic views that unfold before you, as the vivid autumn colors stretch as far as the eye can see. Derbyshire's countryside is not just a visual spectacle; it also offers a feast for the taste buds. Visit one of the many local farms and orchards, where you can pick your own apples and sample freshly pressed cider. Indulge in hearty meals made from local produce, such as succulent roasted meats and seasonal vegetables. Treat yourself to a traditional afternoon tea, complete with scones smothered in clotted cream and homemade jam, while gazing out at the breathtaking landscapes that surround you. Derbyshire's countryside in autumn is a true testament to the beauty of nature. With its vibrant colors, charming villages, and breathtaking landscapes, this region offers an unforgettable experience for all who venture here. Whether you're seeking tranquility, adventure, or simply a chance to indulge your senses, Derbyshire in autumn will leave you with cherished memories and a yearning to return to this enchanting corner of England. So, pack your bags, embrace the crisp autumn air, and let the Derbyshire countryside weave its spell on you

Deer - White Edge, Curbar

A few more pictures of Deer on Whited  Edge near Curbar.

Very tricky, deer can apparently smell humans from up to a mile away, plus they are blessed with good eyesight, and would normally move away before anyone even spotted one.  However it's rutting season, so they have  other things on their mind and are a little distracted...

However this can make them aggressive towards anyone  stepping on their patch so have to keep some distance when find a herd.  Out on the Edge there's no tree cover to hide behind or to use for safety - everywhere is so open. Also the deer are very good at blending in, I literally heard one last night and hadn't even seen it coming.

Taken without  a tripod while trialling a Nikon Z6 mirrorless camera, albeit I have stuck with my DSLR Nikon D7000 since that time!
